I played * Viking Nos * (a very nice guy) for a few games tonight and he asked what I meant by Mancers, when I told him my deck name. I proceeded to tell him about Spell Storm (Air faction) and how it does 1 damage per card with mage or mancer in its name. Then he proceeded to kick my butt.
I did win with the decks called Shorty (discard your hand type of deck), Mom & Sons (just a nice theme, that's all), Timed Fish (very versatile, using time cards to counter his 4-of-each deck with heavy costs). He had a deck called Burning Land (if i recall correctly) of which I have my own version, Forest Fire, but I daresay his deck is better.
So... anyone else wants to share their deck names & ideas?
Don't be shy. If the idea is great, but it doesn't win matches, tell everyone anyways! You'll be glad when someone finds a solution and shares it with you!
Evil mages - a lot of damages from mancers
Blasted aggro - aggressive creatures backed up by fires
Horror Jungle - makes opponent minion change row to damage them
Chrono - removes opponent permanents
Deadly Traps - causes damages by adding traps to the game
Burning Hell - let's damage all minions as I have the most resistent ones
Strength - you get weaker and I get cooler
Seek & Destroy - lot of damages anywhere
Fagocitator - I am going to make ur minion weak and then am going to get it on my side
Invictus - I play minions and they are back to my hand when you try to damage them
Shadow fires - As I kill your minions I get stronger
Dragons On Bikes — bad joke as the deck cycles dragon cards
Access Denied — all kinds of denying opponent cards
Shifty Looking — uses lots of movement to shift cards around the board
Triton World Tour — a triton deck I use with fixed core cards but interchangeable 2nd faction
Build a deck to beat None Shall Pass, my wall deck.
Undefeated so far, I'd like to meet someone who built a deck against None Shall Pass specifically.
I'm usually around in the EST (UTC -5) evening, 21h00-22h00 or so.
Having played barrier based decks, I am a bit surprised you have one that is so effective. My best is very competitive, but probably only wins about 50% against top caliper opponents. I am very curious how you do it. Any chance you might post the full deck in the future? Even better, have you considered submitting it to the deck design contest (see the deck design contest thread in this forum)? I still need one or two more entries to feel comfortable moving to the judging phase of the contest.
By the way, I would love to take you up on your challenge, but I'm not certain when I will be able to play -- I tend to get huge numbers of interruptions. I have an all common card deck that I think would match well against it. It would be interesting to see how my best barrier based deck matches up (probably not well since its objective is not to win by deck exhaustion, although it occasionally does so). I am also interested in trying some "barrier killing" ideas.
Of course, your challenge is probably not fair to your deck -- knowing what you will play gives me a huge advantage. And knowing you are playing an exhaustion based deck will definitely influence how I play my deck against it.
Anyway, in case you are curious, here are the rankings:
1. fire (100 power points)
2. ocean (96 power points)
3. jungle (92 power points)
4. underearth (88 power points)
4. swamp (88 power points)
6. air (81 power points)
7. forest (78 power points)
... I created: The Weak, The Proud!
It's a pretty effective, quick deck in Air & Forest
Someday I hope to meet your The meek, The Proud deck. I have struggled unsuccessfully to create a quick air / forest deck and would love to see how you do it. Speaking of decks, I am still hoping to meet your forest/jungle card depletion deck.
